But someone will say, "How are the dead raised? And with what sort of body do they come?" Foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. And what you sow [is] not the body which it will become, but you sow the bare seed, whether perhaps of wheat or of some of the rest. read more.
But God gives to it a body just as he wishes, and to each one of the seeds its own body. Not all flesh [is] the same, but [there is] one flesh of human beings, and another flesh of animals, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish, and heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But the glory of the heavenly [bodies] [is] of one kind, and the [glory] of the earthly [bodies] [is] of another kind. [There is] one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars, for star differs from star in glory. Thus also [is] the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruptibility. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If [there] is a natural body, [there] is also a spiritual [body]. Thus also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul"; the last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit. But the spiritual [is] not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The first man [is] from the earth, made of earth; the second man [is] from heaven. As the one [who is] made of earth, so also [are] those [who are] made of earth, and as the heavenly, so also [are] those [who are] heavenly. And just as we have borne the image of the [one who is] made of earth, we will also bear the image of the heavenly. But I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor can corruption inherit incorruptibility.

If {we have put our hope} in Christ in this life only, we are of all people most pitiable. But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since through a man [came] death, also through a man [came] the resurrection of the dead. read more.
For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own group: Christ the first fruits, then those [who are] Christ's at his coming, then the end, when he hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when he has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For it is necessary for him to reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be abolished [is] death. For "he subjected all [things] under his feet." But when it says "all [things]" are subjected, [it is] clear that the one who subjected all [things] to him [is] not included. But whenever all [things] are subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the one who subjected all [things] to him, in order that God may be all in all. Otherwise, why do they do [it], those who are being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why indeed are they being baptized on behalf of them? And why are we in danger every hour? I die every day--yes indeed, by my boasting in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord! If according to a human perspective I fought wild beasts at Ephesus, what benefit [is it] to me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. Do not be deceived! "Bad company corrupts good morals." Sober up correctly and {stop sinning}, for some have no knowledge of God--I say [this] to your shame. But someone will say, "How are the dead raised? But I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor can corruption inherit incorruptibility. Behold, I tell you a mystery: we will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For it is necessary [for] this perishable [body] to put on incorruptibility, and this mortal [body] to put on immortality. But whenever this perishable [body] puts on incorruptibility and this mortal [body] puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will take place: "Death is swallowed up in victory.

For our commonwealth exists in heaven, from which also we eagerly await a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our humble body [to be] conformed to his glorious body, in accordance with the power that enables him even to subject all [things] to himself.

But I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor can corruption inherit incorruptibility. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord [is, there is] freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory into glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

[if] I call to the pit, 'You [are] my father,' to the maggot, '[You are] my mother or my sister,'

because you will not abandon my soul in Hades, nor will you permit your Holy One to experience decay.

They lie down together in [the] dust, and maggots cover them.

all flesh would perish together, and humankind would return to dust.

so that he may stay alive forever [and] not see the pit.

You hide your face, they are terrified. You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.

Both go to one place--both came from dust and both return to dust.

I went down to the foundations of [the] mountains; the Underworld--its bars [were] around me forever. But you brought up my life from [the] pit, Yahweh my God.

[by] having foreseen [this], he spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he abandoned in Hades nor did his flesh experience decay.

But that he has raised him from the dead, no more going to return to decay, he has spoken in this way: 'I will give you the reliable divine decrees of David.' Therefore he also says in another [psalm], 'You will not permit your Holy One to experience decay.' For David, [after] serving the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and {was buried with} his fathers, and experienced decay. read more.
But he whom God raised up did not experience decay.

Thus also [is] the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruptibility.

But I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood is not able to inherit the kingdom of God, nor can corruption inherit incorruptibility.

For the creation has been subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of the one who subjected [it], in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its servility to decay, into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

For the living know that they will die, but the dead do not know anything. They no longer have a reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten. What they loved and hated, as well as what they desired, has already perished. They no longer have any share in what is done under the sun.

For Sheol cannot praise you; death [cannot] praise you. Those who go down [to the] pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

Now we do speak wisdom among the mature, but wisdom not of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are perishing, but we speak the hidden wisdom of God in a mystery, which God predestined before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew. For if they had known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

the mystery [which] has been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but has now been revealed to his saints, to whom God wanted to make known what [is] the glorious wealth of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

On account of this I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles --if indeed you have heard [about] the stewardship of God's grace given to me for you. According to revelation the mystery was made known to me, just as I wrote beforehand in brief, read more.
so that you may be able when you read to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ (which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit): [that] the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow sharers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, of which I became a servant, according to the gift of God's grace given to me, according to the working of his power. To me, the least of all the saints, was given this grace: to proclaim the good news of the fathomless riches of Christ to the Gentiles, and to enlighten everyone [as to] what [is] the administration of the mystery hidden from the ages by God, who created all [things],

But in the days of the sound of the seventh angel, whenever he is about to blow the trumpet, then the mystery of God is completed, as he announced to his own slaves the prophets."

But [we] ourselves had the sentence of death in ourselves, so that we would not be putting confidence in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Go [and] tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised, and the poor have good news announced to [them].

"Now at that time, Michael, the great prince, will arise, {the protector} over the sons of your people, and it will be a time of distress that has not been since [your people] {have been} a nation until that time. And at that time your people will escape, {everyone who is found} written in the scroll. And many from [those] sleeping {in the dusty ground} will awake, some to {everlasting life} and some to disgrace and {everlasting contempt}.

But I myself know [that] my redeemer [is] alive, and [at the] last he will stand up upon {the earth}. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, but from my flesh I will see God, whom {I will see for myself}, and [whom] my eyes will see and not a stranger. {My heart faints within me}.

but all [things] exposed by the light are made visible, for everything made visible is light. Therefore it says, Wake up, sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

And you, {although you were dead} in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all formerly lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the mind, and we were children of wrath by nature, as also the rest of [them] were. read more.
But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love [with] which he loved us, and we being dead in trespasses, he made [us] alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved), and raised [us] together and seated [us] together in the heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus,
