Do you not say, 'There are yet four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and look at the fields! They are already white for harvest.

For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh.

in the hope that I may somehow arouse to jealousy the kinsmen of my flesh and save some of them.

To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, so that I might by all means save some.

To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, so that I might by all means save some.

To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews; to those under the law I became as one under the lawthough not being myself under the lawso that I might win those under the law. To those who are without law, I became as one without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, so that I might by all means save some. read more.
I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

"All things are lawful," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful," but not all things build up.

But if anyone says to you, "This has been offered in sacrifice," then do not eat it, both for the sake of the man who informed you and for conscience' sake the other man's conscience, I mean, not yours. For why should my freedom be judged by another's conscience? If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that for which I give thanks? read more.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense either to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please all men in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

But be that as it may, I did not burden you myself. Yet, crafty fellow that I am, I caught you by trickery!

To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, so that I might by all means save some.

for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you took me in, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.'

And so by your knowledge this weak man is destroyed, the brother for whom Christ died.

Who at any time serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk? Do I say this merely from a human point of view? Does not the Law say the same thing? For it is written in the Law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain." Is it for oxen that God is concerned? read more.
Or is he speaking altogether for our sake? Yes, for our sake it was written, because the plowman ought to plow in hope, and the thresher to thresh in hope of sharing the crops. If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? If others share this right of support from you, do not we all the more? Nevertheless, we did not make use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ. Do you not know that those who work in the temple get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living from the gospel. But I have not used any of these rights. And I am not writing this in the hope that you will do such things for me. I would rather die than have anyone deprive me of my ground for boasting. For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion. For woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; but if it is not of my will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me. What then is my reward? Just this: that in my preaching I may offer the gospel free of charge, and so not make full use of my right in the gospel. For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, that I might win the more. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews; to those under the law I became as one under the lawthough not being myself under the lawso that I might win those under the law. To those who are without law, I became as one without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without the law. Though if I should boast, I will not be a fool, for I will be speaking the truth. But I refrain from it, so that no one may think more of me than he sees in me or hears from me.
