Then Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

So Jeroboam’s wife arose and left and came to Tirzah [the king’s residence]. As she was entering the threshold of the house, the child [Abijah] died.

When Baasha heard about it, he stopped fortifying Ramah and stayed in Tirzah.

Baasha slept with his fathers [in death] and was buried in Tirzah. Elah his son became king in his place.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king over Israel and reigned for twelve years. He reigned six years at Tirzah.

So all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp. So Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah. And when Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the stronghold of the king's house and burned the king's house over him with fire and died, Because of his sins committed in doing evil in the sight of the Lord, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and his sin in causing Israel to sin.
