According to the grace of God given to me, as a wise architect I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon: but let every one see to it how he buildeth thereon.

in whom the whole building fitly joined together increaseth to an holy temple in the Lord:

For no one can lay any other foundation, but that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ: and if any build upon this foundation gold,

to whom coming as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen of God, and precious, ye also are built up as living stones, a spiritual house, an holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

And indeed I have it all, and now abound: I am fully supplied, having received of Epaphroditus the things sent by you, a fragrant odor, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.

Then saith Jesus to them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, "The stone which the builders refused, is made the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"

Then He began to speak unto the people this parable, A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen and travelled abroad for a considerable time, and at the fruit-season he sent a servant to the husbandmen that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the husbandmen beat him and sent him away empty. And he sent another servant; and they beat him also and abused him, and sent him away empty. read more.
And he sent a third; and they wounded him also and drove him out. Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: perhaps when they see Him they will reverence Him. But when the husbandmen saw Him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do unto them? He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And when they heard this they said, God forbid. And He looked upon them and said, What then is this, which is written, The stone which the builders refused, is become the head of the corner? Whosoever falleth on that stone shall be bruised; but on whomsoever it falleth, it will crush him to pieces.

and elders of Israel, if we are this day examined about the benefit done to the impotent man, by what means he is cured, be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, but whom God hath raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone that was set at nought by you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

to whom coming as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen of God, and precious, ye also are built up as living stones, a spiritual house, an holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Whence also it is said in scripture, Behold I lay in Sion a chief corner-stone, choice and precious: and he that confideth on it shall not be ashamed. read more.
To you therefore who believe it is precious: but to them that are disobedient, the stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence. These stumble at the word through unbelief, unto which also they were appointed.

and what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, "I will dwell in them, and I will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone: in whom the whole building fitly joined together increaseth to an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are built up together for an habitation of God by the Spirit.

What shall we say then? that the Gentiles, who sought not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith; but Israel, who followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness: why? because they sought it not by faith, but by the works of the law, for they stumbled at that stumbling-stone; read more.
