Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are diversities of administrations, but the same Lord: And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh all in all.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given us, whether it be prophesy, let us prophesy according to the analogy of faith: Or ministry, let us wait on our ministring; or he that teacheth, on teaching; or he that exhorteth, on exhortation. He that imparteth, let him do it with simplicity; he that presideth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with chearfulness.
For to one is given by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another by the same Spirit, the word of knowledge; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gift of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.read more.
But one and the same Spirit worketh all these, dividing to every one severally as he willeth.
And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers;
God also bearing them witness by signs, and wonders, and various miracles, and distributions of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will.
As every one hath received a gift, so minister it one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his servants, and delivered to them his goods. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, according to his own ability, and immediately took his journey.
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. And having called ten of his servants, he gave them ten pounds, and said unto them, Trade till I come.
For who maketh thee to differ from another? And what hast thou which thou hast not received? But if thou hast received it, why dost thou boast, as if thou hadst not received it?
For as the body is one, and yet hath many members, but all the members of the body, many as they are, are one body, so is Christ.
For as in one body we are many members, and all members have not the same office, So we being many are one body in Christ, and every one members of each other.
For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot should say,
And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee; or again, the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Yea, the members of the body, which appear to be weaker, are much more necessary. And those which we think to be the less honourable parts of the body, these we surround with more abundant honour, and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.read more.
For our comely parts have no need; but God hath tempered the body together, giving more abundant honour to that which lacked: That there might be no schism in the body, but that the members might have the same care for each other: And whether one member suffer, all the members might suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members might rejoice with it.
And I say, through the grace which is given to me, to every one that is among you, not to think of himself above what he ought to think, but to think soberly, according to the measure of faith which God hath distributed to every one.
Do nothing through strife or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind, esteem each the others better than themselves.
And they continued stedfast in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of bread, and the prayers.
For neither was there any one among them that lacked: for whosoever were possessors of houses or lands sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the feet of the apostles, and distribution was made to every one, according as any had need.
For I do not mean, that others should be eased, and you burthened; But by an equality, let your abundance be at this time a supply to their want; that their abundance also may be a supply to your want, that there may be an equality,
(Who, by experiment of this administration, glorify God for your avowed subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal communication to them and to all men.)
But to do good, and to distribute, forget not; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
