I raised my hand and swore an oath to give you this land to live in. But none of you will enter it except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
Jehovah said: They must all die in the desert wilderness. The only ones left were Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
None of the people twenty years old or older, who came from Egypt, will see the land I promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob with an oath. This is because they did not wholeheartedly follow me.
Not one man of this evil generation will see that good land, which I swore to give your fathers,
The children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of Jehovah. Jehovah swore that he would not show them the land, which he swore to their fathers that he would give us, a land that flows with milk and honey.
I also swore an oath to them in the desert. I swore that I would not bring them into the land that I had promised to give them. This land is the most beautiful land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
We see that they could not enter in on account of a lack of faith (unbelief) (disobedience).
It remains for some to enter into it. Those who first received the good news did not enter in because they did not obey and lacked faith.
