and what heightens his love, was this, that it was not we who first loved God, but it was he that first loved us, and sent his son to expiate our sins. Verse Concepts

he is the the victim that has expiated our sins: and not ours only, but likewise the sins of the whole world. Verse Concepts

for if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his son: much more being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. and not only so, but we have present joy in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now obtained the reconciliation.
