Ye are not come to a tangible mountain, and burning fire, and a thick cloud, and darkness, and tempest, and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words, which they that heard, intreated that the word might not any more be thus delivered to them: (for they could not bear the strict command, if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or shot through with a dart; read more.

The Holy Ghost shewing by this, that the way into the Holy of holies was not yet manifested, the first tabernacle being yet standing.
