Concerning Whom we have much to say and difficult to explain, since ye have become dull of hearing. For even when, on account of the time, ye ought to be teachers, ye again have need that some one teach you the first elements of the oracles of God, and have become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food; for every one who partakes of milk is inexperienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe; read more.
but solid food is for full-grown men, who by practice have their senses trained for the discernment both of good and evil.

Wherefore, leaving the word of the beginning of Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the teaching of immersions, and laying on of hands, of a resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this will we do, if, indeed, God permit. read more.
For as to those who were once enlightened, and tasted of the heavenly gift, and became partakers of the Holy Spirit, and tasted the good word of God and the powers of the coming age, and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they are crucifying to themselves the Son of God afresh, and putting Him to open shame. For the land which drank in the rain that often comes upon it, and brings forth an herb fit for those for whose sake also it is cultivated, receives blessing from God; but, if it bears thorns and thistles, it is rejected, and is near to a curse; whose end is to be burned. But, beloved, we have become persuaded better things concerning you, and things accompanying salvation, even though we thus speak; for God is not unrighteous to forget your work, and the love which ye showed toward His name, in having ministered to the saints, and still ministering. And we desire that each of you show forth the same diligence to the full assurance of the hope to the end; that ye may not become slothful, but imitators of those who, through faith and long-suffering, inherit the promises. For God, when making a promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater by whom to swear, swore by Himself, saying, "Surely, blessing, I will bless you; and multiplying, I will multiply you." And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men swear by the greater; and the oath for confirmation is an end, to them, of every dispute:

Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth; being patient over it, until it receives the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; establish your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near. Take, brethren, as an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets, who spake in the name of the Lord. Behold, we pronounce those happy who endured: ye heard of the patience of Job; and ye saw the end of the Lord, that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.
