And we desire that each of you show forth the same diligence to the full assurance of the hope to the end; that ye may not become slothful, but imitators of those who, through faith and long-suffering, inherit the promises.

Therefore, having so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us??aving thrown off every encumbrance and the easily besetting sin??et us run with patience the race lying before us; looking away to the Author and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus; Who, in consideration of the joy lying before Him, endured the cross, despising shame, and hath taken a seat at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him Who hath endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye become weary, fainting in your souls.

Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth; being patient over it, until it receives the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; establish your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near.
