Thematic Bible

For you yourselves know how you must imitate us: We were not irresponsible among you;

I wish that all people were just like me. But each has his own gift from God, one person in this way and another in that way.

Now the Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the former ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals

As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, with a heart of integrity and in what is right, doing everything I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and ordinances,

He walked in the way of Asa his father; he did not turn away from it but did what was right in the Lord’s sight.

He did what was right in the Lord’s sight as his father Amaziah had done.

He did what was right in the Lord’s sight as his father Uzziah had done. In addition, he didn’t enter the Lord’s sanctuary, but the people still behaved corruptly.

David defeated the Philistine with a sling and a stone. Even though David had no sword, he struck down the Philistine and killed him. David ran and stood over him. He grabbed the Philistine's sword, pulled it from its sheath, and used it to kill him. Then he cut off his head. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they ran. The men of Israel and Judah rallied, shouting their battle cry, and chased the Philistines to the entrance of the valley and to the gates of Ekron. Philistine bodies were strewn all along the Shaaraim road to Gath and Ekron.

Jonathan said to the attendant who carried his weapons, "Come on, let's cross over to the garrison of these uncircumcised men. Perhaps the Lord will help us. Nothing can keep the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few." His armor-bearer responded, "Do what is in your heart. You choose. I'm right here with you whatever you decide."

After he said these things and had taken some bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of them all, and when he had broken it, he began to eat. They all became encouraged and took food themselves.

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, so that you won’t grow weary and lose heart.

But Moses said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. Stand firm and see the Lord’s salvation He will provide for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.

“Watch me,” he said, “and do the same. When I come to the outpost of the camp, do as I do.
