And he calleth to him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over the unclean spirits; and commanded them that they should take nothing for the way but a staff only; no bread, no bag, no money in their girdle; but to be shod with sandals; and, Do not put on two coats. read more.
And he said to them, Wherever ye enter a house, there abide fill ye leave that place. And whatever place shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye go thence, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony to them.






These twelve Jesus sent forth, when he had charged them, saying, Go not away to gentiles, and enter not any city of the Samaritans; but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And, as ye go, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. read more.
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons; freely ye received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass, in your girdles; nor bag for the journey, nor two coats, nor sandals, nor a staff. For the laborer is worthy of his living. And into whatever city or town ye enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye leave the place. And as ye enter the house, salute it. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye go out of that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Truly do I say to you, It will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.






Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest haply we let them slip. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first was spoken through the Lord, and was confirmed to us through those who heard him,

See that ye refuse not him who speaketh. He that hath set at nought the law of Moses dieth without mercy under two or three witnesses; of how much heavier punishment, think ye, will he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite to the Spirit of grace?
