When I observe Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You set in place, what is man that You remember him, the son of man that You look after him?

If God puts no trust in His servants and He charges His angels with foolishness, how much more those who dwell in clay houses, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed like a moth!

Can a man be of [any] use to God? Can even a wise man be of use to Him? Does it delight the Almighty if you are righteous? Does He profit if you perfect your behavior? Does He correct you and take you to court because of your piety? read more.
Isn't your wickedness abundant and aren't your iniquities endless?

How can a person be justified before God? How can one born of woman be pure? If even the moon does not shine and the stars are not pure in His sight, how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm!

Do you think it is just when you say, "I am righteous before God"? For you ask, "What does it profit You, and what benefit comes to me, if I do not sin?" I will answer you and your friends with you. read more.
Look at the heavens and see; gaze at the clouds high above you. If you sin, how does it affect God? If you multiply your transgressions, what does it do to Him? If you are righteous, what do you give Him, or what does He receive from your hand? Your wickedness [affects] a person like yourself, and your righteousness [another] human being.

Have you ever in your life commanded the morning or assigned the dawn its place, so it may seize the edges of the earth and shake the wicked out of it?

Lord, what is man, that You care for him, the son of man, that You think of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.

Your wickedness affects a person like yourself,
and your righteousness another human being.

Wisdom is as good as an inheritance
and an advantage to those who see the sun,

Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to slander no one, to avoid fighting, and to be kind, always showing gentleness to all people. For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, captives of various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another. read more.
But when the goodness and love for man appeared from God our Savior, He saved us- not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. This [Spirit] He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life. This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.

Your wickedness affects a person like yourself,
and your righteousness another human being.

Righteousness guards people of integrity,
but wickedness undermines the sinner.

Your own evil will discipline you;
your own apostasies will reprimand you.
Think it over and see how evil and bitter it is
for you to abandon the Lord your God
and to have no fear of Me.
This is the declaration
of the Lord God of Hosts.

For wickedness burns like a fire
that consumes thorns and briers
and kindles the forest thickets
so that they go up in a column of smoke.

Your wickedness affects a person like yourself,
and your righteousness another human being.

Righteousness guards people of integrity,
but wickedness undermines the sinner.
