'Sins' in the Bible
"Tell the Israelites: When someone sins unintentionally against any of the Lord's commands and does anything prohibited by them-
"If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he is to present to the Lord a young, unblemished bull as a sin offering for the sin he has committed.
"When a leader sins and unintentionally violates any of the commands of the Lord his God by doing what is prohibited, and incurs guilt,
"Now if any of the common people sins unintentionally by violating one of the Lord's commands, does what is prohibited, and incurs guilt,
"When someone sins [in any of these ways]: [If] he has seen, heard, or known about something he has witnessed, and did not respond to a public call to testify, he is guilty.
"If someone sins and without knowing [it] violates any of the Lord's commands concerning anything prohibited, he bears the consequences of his guilt.
"When someone sins and offends the Lord by deceiving his neighbor in regard to a deposit, a security, or a robbery; or defrauds his neighbor;
He will purify the [most] holy place in this way for all their sins because of the Israelites' impurities and rebellious acts. He will do the same for the tent of meeting that remains among them, because it is surrounded by their impurities.
Aaron will lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the Israelites' wrongdoings and rebellious acts-all their sins. He is to put them on the goat's head and send [it] away into the wilderness by the man appointed for the task.
Atonement will be made for you on this day to cleanse you, and you will be clean from all your sins before the Lord.
This is to be a permanent statute for you, to make atonement for the Israelites once a year because of all their sins." And all this was done as the Lord commanded Moses.
"But if after these things you will not obey Me, I will proceed to discipline you seven times for your sins.
"If you act with hostility toward Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will multiply your plagues seven times for your sins.
then I will act with hostility toward you; I also will strike you seven times for your sins.
I will act with furious hostility toward you; I will also discipline you seven times for your sins.
Those who survive in the lands of your enemies will waste away because of their sin; they will also waste away because of their fathers' sins along with theirs.
You will bear the consequences of your sins 40 years based on the number of the 40 days that you scouted the land, a year for each day. You will know My displeasure.
"If one person sins unintentionally, he is to present a year-old female goat as a sin offering.
But Moses and Aaron fell facedown and said, "God, God of the spirits of all flesh, when one man sins, will you vent Your wrath on the whole community?"
He warned the community, "Get away now from the tents of these wicked men. Don't touch anything that belongs to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins."
But Joshua told the people, "You will not be able to worship the Lord, because He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not remove your transgressions and sins.
If a man sins against another man, God can intercede for him, but if a man sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him?" But they would not listen to their father, since the Lord intended to kill them.
They pleaded with Samuel, "Pray to the Lord your God for your servants, so we won't die! For we have added to all our sins the evil of requesting a king for ourselves."
When a man sins against his neighbor and is forced to take an oath, and he comes to take an oath before Your altar in this temple,
When the skies are shut and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and praise Your name, and they turn from their sins because You are afflicting them,
He will give up Israel, because of Jeroboam's sins that he committed and caused Israel to commit."
Judah did what was evil in the Lord's eyes. They provoked Him to jealous anger more than all that their ancestors had done with the sins they committed.
Abijam walked in all the sins his father had done before him, and he was not completely devoted to the Lord his God as his ancestor David had been.
This was because of Jeroboam's sins he had committed and had caused Israel to commit in the provocation he had provoked the Lord God of Israel with.
"Because I raised you up from the dust and made you ruler over My people Israel, but you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have caused My people Israel to sin, provoking Me with their sins,
because of all the sins of Baasha and the sins of his son Elah, which they committed and caused Israel to commit, provoking the Lord God of Israel with their worthless idols.
He followed the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat and the sins he caused Israel to commit, provoking the Lord God of Israel with their worthless idols.
Nevertheless, Joram clung to the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit. He did not turn away from them.
but he did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit-[worshiping] the golden calves that were in Bethel and Dan.
Yet, Jehu was not careful to follow with all his heart the law of the Lord God of Israel. He did not turn from the sins that Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit.
He did what was evil in the Lord's sight and followed the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit; he did not turn away from them.
but they didn't turn away from the sins that the house of Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit. Jehoahaz walked in them, and the Asherah pole also remained standing in Samaria.

The Israelites persisted in all the sins that Jeroboam committed and did not turn away from them.
This happened to Judah only at the Lord's command to remove them from His sight. It was because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all he had done,
If a man sins against his neighbor and is forced to take an oath and he comes to take an oath before Your altar in this temple,
When the skies are shut and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and praise Your name, and they turn from their sins because You are afflicting them,
They said to them, "You must not bring the captives here, for you plan to bring guilt on us from the Lord to add to our sins and our guilt. For we have much guilt, and fierce wrath is on Israel."
After all that has happened to us because of our evil deeds and terrible guilt-though You, our God, have punished [us] less than our sins [deserve] and have allowed us to survive-
let Your eyes be open and Your ears be attentive to hear Your servant's prayer that I now pray to You day and night for Your servants, the Israelites. I confess the sins we have committed against You. Both I and my father's house have sinned.
Those of Israelite descent separated themselves from all foreigners, and they stood and confessed their sins and the guilt of their fathers.
Its abundant harvest goes to the kings You have set over us, because of our sins. They rule over our bodies and our livestock as they please. We are in great distress.
How many iniquities and sins have I committed? Reveal to me my transgression and sin.
Who perceives his unintentional sins? Cleanse me from my hidden faults.
Moreover, keep Your servant from willful sins; do not let them rule over me. Then I will be innocent, and cleansed from blatant rebellion.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my acts of rebellion; in keeping with Your faithful love, remember me because of Your goodness, Lord.
Consider my affliction and trouble, and take away all my sins.
For my sins have flooded over my head; they are a burden too heavy for me to bear.
For troubles without number have surrounded me; my sins have overtaken me; I am unable to see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my courage leaves me.
Turn Your face away from my sins and blot out all my guilt.
Do not hold past sins against us; let Your compassion come to us quickly, for we have become weak.
God of our salvation, help us- for the glory of Your name. Deliver us and atone for our sins, because of Your name.
You have set our unjust ways before You, our secret sins in the light of Your presence.
He will pay them back for their sins and destroy them for their evil. The Lord our God will destroy them.
He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve or repaid us according to our offenses.
Fools suffered affliction because of their rebellious ways and their sins.
Let their sins always remain before the Lord, and let Him cut off [all] memory of them from the earth.
Lord, if You considered sins, Lord, who could stand?
And He will redeem Israel from all its sins.
but the one who sins against me harms himself; all who hate me love death."
The one who despises his neighbor sins, but whoever shows kindness to the poor will be happy.
Even zeal is not good without knowledge, and the one who acts hastily sins.
The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.
There is certainly no righteous man on the earth who does good and never sins.
"Come, let us discuss this," says the Lord. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they will be like wool.
Indeed, it was for [my own] welfare that I had such great bitterness; but Your love [has delivered] me from the Pit of destruction, for You have thrown all my sins behind Your back.
Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and announce to her that her time of servitude is over, her iniquity has been pardoned, and she has received from the Lord's hand double for all her sins.
You have not bought Me aromatic cane with silver, or satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened Me with your sins; you have wearied Me with your iniquities.

They have returned to the sins of their ancestors who refused to obey My words and have followed other gods to worship them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah broke My covenant I made with their ancestors.
This is what the Lord says concerning these people: Truly they love to wander; they never rest their feet. So the Lord does not accept them. Now He will remember their guilt and punish their sins.
Your wealth and your treasures I will give as plunder, without cost, for all your sins, and within all your borders.
All your lovers have forgotten you; they no longer look for you, for I have struck you like an enemy would, with the discipline of someone cruel, because of your enormous guilt and your innumerable sins.
Why do you cry out about your injury? Your pain has no cure! I have done these things to you because of your enormous guilt and your innumerable sins.

Why should [any] living person complain, [any] man, because of the punishment for his sins?
[Yet it happened] because of the sins of her prophets and the guilt of her priests, who shed the blood of the righteous within her.
Daughter Zion, your punishment is complete; He will not lengthen your exile. But He will punish your iniquity, Daughter Edom, and will expose your sins.
"Son of man, if a land sins against Me by acting faithlessly, and I stretch out My hand against it to cut off its supply of bread, to send famine through it, and to wipe out [both] man and animal from it,
But Samaria did not commit [even] half your sins. You have multiplied your abominations beyond theirs and made your sisters appear righteous by all the abominations you have committed.
You must also bear your disgrace, since you have been an advocate for your sisters. For they appear more righteous than you because of your sins, which you committed more abhorrently than they [did]. So you also, be ashamed and bear your disgrace, since you have made your sisters appear righteous.
Look, every life belongs to Me. The life of the father is like the life of the son-both belong to Me. The person who sins is the one who will die.
"Now suppose he has a son who sees all the sins his father has committed, and though he sees them, he does not do likewise.
The person who sins is the one who will die. A son won't suffer punishment for the father's iniquity, and a father won't suffer punishment for the son's iniquity. The righteousness of the righteous person will be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked person will be on him.
