How can ye believe, who receive glory from one another, and the glory which is from God only ye seek not? I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye did not take Me; but this is done that the Scriptures may be fulfilled."
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple. And He said to him, "Behold, you have been made well; sin no more, lest something worse befall you." For, not as having followed after cunningly-devised stories, did we make known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but as having been made spectators of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory, when such a voice was borne to Him from the Excellent Glory, "This is My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I took delight"; and this voice we heard borne from Heaven, when we were with Him in the holy mount.
And Peter, answering, said to Jesus," Lord, it is good that we are here. If Thou wilt, I will make here three tents??ne for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And, behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in Whom I delighted; hear Him."
And Peter, answering, says to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good that we are here; and let us make three tents; one for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah;" for he knew not what to answer, for they became much afraid. And there came a cloud overshadowing them; and there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is My Son, the Beloved; hear ye Him."
And it came to pass, as they were parting from Him, that Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good that we are here; and let us make three tents; one for Thee, one for Moses, and one for Elijah;" not knowing what he was saying. Now, while he was saying these things, there came a cloud, and it was overshadowing them; and they feared, as they entered into the cloud. And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is My Son, the Chosen; hear ye Him."
"Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus, the Nazarene, a man accredited from God to you by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God did through Him in the midst of you, even as ye yourselves know;
that all may honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father Who sent Him. "Verily, verily, I say to you, He that hears My word, and believes Him Who sent Me, has eternal life, and comes not into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. For, as the Father hath life in Himself, so also He gave to the Son to have life in Himself; and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man. Marvel not at this; because there is an hour coming, in which all who are in their tombs shall hear His voice, and come forth; those who did good, to the resurrection of life; but those who practiced evil, to the resurrection of judgment. I can of Myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous; because I seek not My Own will, but the will of Him Who sent Me. If I testify concerning Myself, My testimony is not true. There is Another Who testifieth concerning Me; and I know that the testimony which He testifieth concerning Me is true. But I have a testimony greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given Me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing testify concerning Me, that the Father hath sent Me. And ye have not His word abiding in you; because Whom He sent, Him ye believe not.
