But, it being now the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and was teaching. The Jews, therefore, were marveling, saying, "How knoweth This Man letters, having never learned!" Jesus, therefore, answered them, and said, "My teaching is not Mine, but His Who sent Me. read more.
If any one wills to do His will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself. He that speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He Who seeketh the glory of Him Who sent Him the Same is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Did not Moses give you the law? and not one of you does the law. Why are ye seeking to kill Me?" The multitude answered, "Thou hast a demon: who is seeking to kill you!" Jesus answered, and said to them, "I did one work, and ye all marvel because of this. Moses has given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers); and on the sabbath ye circumcise a man. If a man receives circumcision on a sabbath, that the law of Moses be not broken, are ye angry with Me, because I made a whole man well on the sabbath? Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment." Some, therefore, of those of Jerusalem said, "Is not This He Whom they are seeking to kill? And, behold, He is speaking openly, and they say nothing to Him! Did the rulers ever truly know that This is the Christ? But as to This Man we know whence He is; but, when the Christ cometh, no one knows whence He is." Jesus, therefore, cried in the temple, teaching and saying, "Ye both know Me, and know whence I am; and I have not come of Myself; but He Who sent Me is true, Whom ye know not.

Jesus answered them, "Many good works did I show you from My Father; for which of those works do ye stone Me?" The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we stone Thee not, but for blasphemy, and because, Thou, being a Man, makest Thyself God!" Jesus answered them, "Has it not been written in your law, 'I said, ye are gods?' If He called them gods to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), say ye of Him Whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am the Son of God? If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not; but, if I do them, even though ye believe not Me, believe the works; that ye may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father."

There was in the days of Herod, king of Judaea, a certain priest, Zacharias by name, of the course of Abija; and he had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the law blameless. And they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and both were far advanced in their days. read more.
Now it came to pass, that, while he was doing priestly service in the order of his course before God, it fell to his lot, according to the custom of the priest's office, having gone into the temple of the Lord, to offer incense; and all the multitude of the people were praying without at the hour of the incense-offering. And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And Zacharias, seeing him, was troubled; and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, "Fear not, Zacharias; because your supplication was heard; and your wife Elizabeth shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth; for he will be great before the Lord; and he will drink no wine nor strong drink; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. And many of the sons of Israel will he turn to the Lord their God. And he will go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the disobedient to walk in the wisdom of the righteous, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared. And Zacharias said to the angel, "By what shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife is far advanced in her days." And the angel, answering, said to him, "I am Gabriel, who have been standing near before God, and I was sent to speak to you, and to proclaim these glad tidings to you. And, behold, you shall be silent, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall come to pass; because you did not believe my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season." And the people were waiting for Zacharias, and they were wondering at his tarrying in the temple. And, having come out, he was not able to speak to them, and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple; and he kept making signs to them, and remained dumb. And it came to pass, when the days of his ministration were fulfilled, he departed to his house;

Now the time was completed for Elizabeth, that she should give birth, and she brought forth a son. And his mouth was instantly opened, and his tongue loosed, and he was speaking, blessing God.
