By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, is from God: and whatever spirit confesses not that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, is not from God: and this is the spirit of antichrist, of which you have heard that it comes, and is now already in the world.

But yet, many even of the rulers believed on him; but on account of the Pharisees, they would not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

Not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name cast out demons, and in thy name done many mighty works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.

We know that God hears not sinners; but if any one be a worshiper of God, and do his will, him he hears. Since the beginning it has not been heard that any one opened the eyes of one who had been born blind. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. They answered and said to him: You were wholly born in sins, and do you teach us? And they cast him out. Jesus heard that they had cast him out. And having found him, he said to him: Do you believe on the Son of God? He answered and said: Who is he, sir, that I may believe on him? Jesus said to him: You have seen him; and it is he that talks with you. He said: Lord, I believe; and he worshiped him.
