Blood » Is the life
When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. See to it yourselves!”
For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have appointed it to you to make atonement on the altar for your lives, since it is the lifeblood that makes atonement.
However, you must not eat meat with its lifeblood in it.
But don’t eat the blood, since the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat.
“I have sinned by betraying innocent blood,” he said.
“What’s that to us?” they said. “See to it yourself!”
“What’s that to us?” they said. “See to it yourself!”
Since the life of every creature is its blood, I have told the Israelites: You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; whoever eats it must be cut off.
You must not go about spreading slander among your people; you must not jeopardize your neighbor’s life; I am Yahweh.

Guard your step when you go to the house of God. Better to draw near in obedience than to offer the sacrifice as fools do, for they are ignorant and do wrong. Do not be hasty to speak, and do not be impulsive to make a speech before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
