And it came to pass when he had finished speaking unto Saul that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father's house. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant because he loved him as his own soul.

Are not Zadok and Abiathar, the priests, there with thee? Therefore, it shall be that whatever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar, the priests. A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Then Jonathan, Saul's son, arose and went to David in the woods and strengthened his hand in God. And he said unto him, Do not fear, for the hand of Saul, my father, shall not find thee, and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and even my father knows this.

The man that has friends must show himself to be a friend, and there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Do not forsake thine own friend and thy father's friend, neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity, for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.

Can two walk together except they be agreed?

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you always in every prayer of mine for you all, making request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,

And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends; also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Hatred stirs up strifes, but love covers all sins.

He that covers a transgression seeks love, but he that repeats a matter separates very friends.

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves; for charity shall cover a multitude of sins.

Brethren, if anyone is overtaken in a fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfil the law of the Christ.

Brethren, if any of you have erred from the truth, and someone should convert him; let that one know, that whosoever causes the sinner to convert from the error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall cover a multitude of sins.
