But as soon as this your son has come, Who has eaten up your estate with harlots, you have killed for him the fatted calf. And he said to him, Son, you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours. But it became us to make merry and rejoice; for this your brother was dead, and is alive again: was lost, and is found.

And Jesus said to him: To-day has salvation come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes on him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through him, might be saved.
