And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?"

"Why does this man speak like this? He is blaspheming! Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?"
And [when they] saw [it], the Pharisees began to say to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
But [when] the Pharisees saw [it], they said to him, "Behold, your disciples are doing what it is not permitted to do on the Sabbath!"
"Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat {a meal}."
And the scribes of the Pharisees, [when they] saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, began to say to his disciples, "Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
And they saw that some of his disciples were eating their bread with unclean--that is, unwashed--hands.
And [when they] saw [it], they all began to complain, saying, "He has gone in to find lodging with a man who is a sinner!"
Now the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven,"

And [when] they were not able to bring [him] to him because of the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. And [after] digging through, they lowered the stretcher on which the paralytic was lying. And [when] Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."
