He set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you.' and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, so that you do not dash your foot against a stone.'" Jesus said to him, "Again, it is written, 'You shall not test the Lord, your God.'" Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory. And he said to him, "I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me." Then Jesus said to him, "Go away, Satan. For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.'"



and he appointed him priests for the high places, and for the male goats, and for the calves which he had made.

But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I do not desire that you would have fellowship with demons. You cannot both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.

They shall no more sacrifice their sacrifices to the goat idols, after which they play the prostitute. This shall be a statute forever to them throughout their generations.'

They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods that they did not know, to new gods that came up recently, which your fathers did not dread.

Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.

They worshiped the dragon, because he gave his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"

And he said to him, "I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me."

If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."


Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory. And he said to him, "I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me."

The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want. If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."


The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they would not worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk.

But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.

Jesus answering, said to him, "It is said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'" When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.




For even Christ did not please himself. But, as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me."

Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.
