Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until he has mercy upon us.



Lead me in your truth, and teach me: for you are the God of my salvation; on you do I wait all the day.


And I will wait upon the LORD, that hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him.




See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.



But I say unto you, That you resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.


Say not, I will do so to him as he has done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.





Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because you go to law one with another. Why do you not rather take wrong? why do you not rather allow yourselves to be defrauded?

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all men. Finally, be all of one mind, having compassion one with another, love as brethren, be tender hearted, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but on the contrary blessing; knowing that you are unto this called, that you should inherit a blessing.




He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has spoken it.
