Do not labour to be rich; cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon riches which are not? For they shall certainly make themselves wings; they shall fly away as an eagle toward heaven. Do not eat the bread of anyone who has an evil eye, neither desire his dainty foods; for as he thinks in his soul, so is he; Eat and drink, he shall say unto thee, but his heart is not with thee. Didst thou eat thy part? Thou shalt vomit it up and lose thy sweet words.

Do not praise thyself in the presence of the king, and do not stand in the place of great men; for it is better that it be said unto thee, Come up here than that thou should be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen.
If any of those that do not believe bid you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you asking no questions for conscience sake.
