To keep you from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a seductress. Lust not after her beauty in your heart; neither let her allure you with her eyelids. For by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will prey upon his precious life. read more.
Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So is he that goes in to his neighbor's wife; whosoever touches her shall not be innocent. Men do not despise a thief, if he steals to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; But if he is found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give up all the goods of his house. But whosoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding: he that does it destroys his own soul. A wound and dishonor shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away. For jealousy causes the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.

There are three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not: The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maiden. This is the way of an adulterous woman; she eats, and wipes her mouth, and says, I have done no wickedness.

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They said unto him, Teacher, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what say you?

And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things says the Son of God, who has his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine bronze; I know your works, and love, and service, and faith, and your patience, and your works; and the last to be more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. read more.
And I gave her time to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

And I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands are fetters: whosoever pleases God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her. Verse ConceptsSexual ChastityWomen Doing WrongMan TrappingGodly WomanBitternessBreaking Chainsnagging

For the lips of an immoral woman drop as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on sheol. read more.
Lest you should ponder the path of life, her ways are unstable, that you can not know them. Hear me now therefore, O you children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Remove your way far from her, and come not near the door of her house: Lest you give your honor unto others, and your years unto the merciless: Lest strangers be filled with your wealth; and your labors go to the house of a foreigner; And you mourn at the last, when your flesh and your body are consumed, And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me! I was almost in utter ruin in the midst of the congregation and assembly. Drink waters out of your own cistern, and running waters out of your own well. Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets? Let them be only for your own, and not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of your youth. Let her be as the loving deer and graceful doe; let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and be ravished always with her love. And why will you, my son, be infatuated with an immoral woman, and embrace the bosom of a seductress?

To deliver you from the immoral woman, even from the seductress who flatters with her words; Who forsakes the companion of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. For her house leads unto death, and her paths unto the dead. read more.
None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, read more.
In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart. (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: Now is she outside, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.) So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him, I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows. Therefore came I forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you. I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with colored spreads, with fine linen of Egypt. I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us delight ourselves with love. For my husband is not at home, he has gone on a long journey: He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she seduced him. He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Till an arrow strikes through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life. Hearken unto me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not your heart turn aside to her ways, go not astray in her paths. For she has cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to sheol, going down to the chambers of death.
