Affections » Should be set upon the commandments of God
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
[Mem] O how love I your law! it is my meditation all the day.
How sweet are your words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
My soul has kept your testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Unless your law had been my delights, I should then have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts: for with them you have revived me. I am yours, save me; for I have sought your precepts. The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider your testimonies. I have seen a limit to all perfection: but your commandment is exceedingly broad. [Mem] O how love I your law! it is my meditation all the day. You through your commandments have made me wiser than my enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep your precepts. I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep your word. I have not departed from your judgments: for you have taught me. How sweet are your words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
