And it was not given to them to kill them, but to torment them five months: and their torment was like that of a scorpion when it stings a man. And in these days men shall seek death, and shall not find it: and they shall desire to die, and death shall fly from them. And the resemblance of the locusts was like horses prepared for war; and on their heads were, as it were, crowns of gold; and their faces were like the faces of men: and they had tresses, like the tresses of women; and their teeth were like the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the noise of their wings was like the noise of chariots, and many horses rushing to war. And they had tails like scorpions, and their stings were in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months. For they had a king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name, in the Hebrew language, is Abaddon; and in the Greek, he has the name Apollyon. One woe is gone, and behold other two woes, besides it, yet coming. And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, to kill a third part of men. And I saw another mighty angel descending from heaven, clothed with a cloud; and a rainbow was about his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. And he had in his hand a little book, open; and he put his right foot upon the sea, and the left upon the earth. And he cried out with a loud voice, as when a lion roars: and when he cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices. read more.
And when the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven, saying, Seal up what the seven thunders have spoken, and write it not. And the angel, whom I saw standing on the sea and on the earth, lifted up his hand toward heaven, and swore by him that lives for ever and ever, who created the heaven, and those things which are in it; and the sea, and the things which are in it; and the earth, and the things which are in it; that there should be no longer delay.
