The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money; yet do they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us.
For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them, every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falsely.
His watchmen are all of them blind, they are without knowledge; they are all dumb dogs that cannot bark, dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber:
For both prophet and priest are profane: even in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah.
Thy prophets have seen vanity and folly for thee; and they have not revealed thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee burdens of falsehood and causes of expulsion.
But if the watchman see the sword coming, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, if the sword come and take a person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
Some indeed also for envy and strife, but some also for good will, preach the Christ.

and because they were of the same trade abode with them, and wrought. For they were tent-makers by trade.
For ye remember, brethren, our labour and toil: working night and day, not to be chargeable to any one of you, we have preached to you the glad tidings of God.
Yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my wants, and to those who were with me.
nor have we eaten bread from any one without cost; but in toil and hardship working night and day not to be chargeable to any one of you:
And he remained two whole years in his own hired lodging, and received all who came to him,
But I have used none of these things. Now I have not written these things that it should be thus in my case; for it were good for me rather to die than that any one should make vain my boast.

for the scripture says, Thou shalt not muzzle an ox that treadeth out corn, and, The workman is worthy of his hire.
nor scrip for the way, nor two body coats, nor sandals, nor a staff: for the workman is worthy of his nourishment.
So also the Lord has ordained to those that announce the glad tidings to live of the glad tidings.
Let him that is taught in the word communicate to him that teaches in all good things.
But ye have done well in taking part in my affliction.

And that I might not be exalted by the exceeding greatness of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn for the flesh, a messenger of Satan that he might buffet me, that I might not be exalted.
