Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Wherefore, I take pleasure in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then am I powerful.

wherein I am suffering hardship, even to bonds, as a malefactor; but the Word of God has not become bound. Therefore, I suffer all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
In my first defense, no one stood by me, but all forsook me. May it not be laid to their account! The Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the proclamation might be fully announced, and that all the gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of a lion.
