in which ye exult, though now, for a little while, if necessary, made sorrowful in manifold temptations; that the proving of your faith??eing much more precious than gold that perishes, but is proved through fire??ay be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

And he that was sown on the rocky places, this is he who hears the word, and straightway with joy receives it; yet he has not root in himself, but is only temporary; and, when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, straightway he stumbles.

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall in with manifold temptations; knowing that the proving of your faith establishes patience. And let patience have a perfect work; that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations; knowing that tribulation works out patience; and patience, approval; and approval, hope;

Because it is the time for judgment to begin at the house of God; and, if it begin first at us, what shall be the end of those who obey not the Gospel of God?

But He, answering, said, "I was not sent, except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." But she, coming, was worshiping Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" And He, answering, said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and cast it to the little dogs." But she said, "Yes, Lord; for even the little dogs eat of the crumbs falling from the master's table." Then Jesus, answering, said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! be it done to you as you wish." And her daughter was healed from that hour.

Now a certain one was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister Martha. And it was the Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. The sisters, therefore, sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom Thou lovest is sick."read more.
And Jesus, hearing it, said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it. Now Jesus was loving Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. When, therefore, He heard that he was sick, He then abode two days in the place where He was.

For even when we were with you, we told you beforehand, "We are about to suffer tribulation"; even as also it came to pass, and ye know. For this reason, I also, no longer enduring it, sent, that I might know your faith, lest by some means the tempter tempted you, and our labor should be in vain.

Fear not the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

thrice I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; thrice I suffered shipwreck; a night and a day I have spent in the deep; in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my countrymen, in perils from the gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in toil and hardship, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

While He was yet speaking, they come from the synagogue-ruler's house, saying, "Your daughter died; why do you trouble the Teacher any further?" But Jesus, disregarding the word spoken, saith to the synagogue-ruler, "Fear not, only believe."

said, "Withdraw; for the damsel did not die, but is sleeping." And they were laughing at Him.

A temptation has not taken you, except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able, but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

And, that I might not be exalted overmuch by the exceeding greatness of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I might not be exalted overmuch. Concerning this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He hath said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you; for My power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

And the God of all grace, Who called you into His everlasting glory in Christ, after ye have suffered a little while, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, settle you.

the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous enduring punishment unto the day of judgment;

Beloved, be not surprised at the fiery-test taking place among you to prove you, as though a strange thing happened to you; but, in so far as ye share in Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of His glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy.

Wherefore, let those also who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing to a Faithful Creator.

Happy is a man who endures temptation; because, when he becomes approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to those who love Him.

so that we ourselves glory in you in the assemblies of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations which ye endure;

And they were stoning Stephen, calling and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" And, kneeling down, he cried with a loud voice, "Lord, lay not this sin to them!" And, having said this, he fell asleep.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness may be of God, and not from ourselves; being pressed on every side, yet not cooped up; perplexed, yet not despairing; pursued, yet not abandoned; smitten down, yet not destroyed;
