Consider it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall in with manifold temptations; knowing that the proving of your faith establishes patience.

For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning our tribulation which befell us in Asia; that we were exceedingly weighed down beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of life: yea, we ourselves had in ourselves the sentence of death, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God, Who raiseth the dead; Who delivered us out of so great a death, and will still deliver: on Whom we have set our hope, that He will also still deliver;

A temptation has not taken you, except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able, but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Happy is a man who endures temptation; because, when he becomes approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to those who love Him.

Because you kept the word of My patience. I also will keep you from the hour of trial, which is about to come upon the whole inhabited earth, to try those who dwell upon the earth.
