But I make not my soul of any value as dear to myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify the Gospel of the grace of God.
And I went up according to revelation, and laid before them the Gospel which I preach among the Gentiles; but privately to those of repute, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
Ye were running well; who hindered you, that ye should not obey the truth,

holding forth the word of life, for an occasion of glorying to me at the day of Christ, that I ran not in vain, neither labored in vain.

No one, serving as a soldier, entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier. And, if also one contends in the games, he is not crowned, unless he contends lawfully.
Know ye not that those running a race, all, indeed, run; but one receives the prize? So run; that ye may obtain. And every one who strives in the games exercises self restraint in all things; they, indeed, therefore, to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. I, therefore, so run, as not uncertainly I so fight, as not beating the air.read more.
But I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage; lest, by any means, after having preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
Therefore, having so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us??aving thrown off every encumbrance and the easily besetting sin??et us run with patience the race lying before us;
Not that I already obtained, or have already been made perfect; but I am pressing on, if I may lay hold of that for which I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not account myself to have laid hold of it; but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and reaching forth to the things before. I am pressing on toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the eternal life, to which you were called, and confessed a good confession before many witnesses.
I am coming speedily; hold fast that which you have, that no one take your crown.
I have contended in the noble contest, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will recompense to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.

Happy is a man who endures temptation; because, when he becomes approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to those who love Him.
and, when the Chief Shepherd is manifested, ye will obtain the unfading crown of glory.
Fear not the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil is about to cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
