21 Bible Verses about Being Without Understanding

This is why I am speaking to them in stories, because they look but do not see, they listen but do not really hear or understand.

So in them the prophecy of the prophet Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: "'You will listen and listen and not understand, and you will look and look and never see at all,

'They may look and look and yet not see, And listen and listen and yet not understand, Lest, perchance, they should turn and be forgiven.'"

'Go to this people and say to them, "You will listen, and listen, and never understand, and you will look, and look, and never see!

So He said, "You are granted the privilege of knowing the secrets of the kingdom of God, but to others they are told in stories, so that they may look and not see, may hear and not understand.

For this people's soul has grown dull, and with their ears they can scarcely hear, and they have shut tight their eyes, so that they will never see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn to me, so that I may cure them!'

"He has blinded their eyes and benumbed their hearts, so that they cannot see with their eyes and understand with their hearts, and turn to me to cure them."

For this people's soul has grown dull, and they scarcely hear with their ears, and they have shut tight their eyes, so that they may never see with their eyes, and understand with their souls, and turn to me, that I may cure them."'

And He said, "Are you too, even yet, without understanding?

And He answered them, "Are you too without understanding yet? Do you not know that nothing from the outside that goes into a man can make him foul,

And as He noticed it He said to them, "Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet know nor understand? Are your minds so dull?

So they kept saying, "What does He mean by saying, 'a little while'? We do not know what He is talking about."

How fathomless the depths of God's resources, wisdom, and knowledge! How unsearchable His decisions, and how mysterious His methods!

Indeed, I do not dare to count or compare myself with certain men who are always recommending themselves. But they do not show good sense, because they do continue measuring themselves with one another and comparing themselves with one another.

No one understands, no one is searching for God;

with darkened understanding, estranged from the life of God because of the ignorance that exists among them and because of the stubbornness of their hearts;

I have much to say to you about Him, but it is difficult to make it clear to you, since you have become so dull in your spiritual senses.

Since you have eyes can you not see with them? Since you have ears can you not hear with them?

He said to them, "How is it that you do not understand?"

Jesus answered him, "Are you a teacher of Israel and do not know this?

They want to be teachers of the law, although they do not understand the words they use or the things about which they make such confident assertions.
