Take heed, my brethren, least there be in any of you a wicked heart of unbelief in departing from the living God:

and to whom did He swear that they should not enter into his rest, but to those that were disobedient? and so we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, least any one fall after the same example of unbelief.

And if our gospel also be veiled, it is to those that perish;

in the vanity of their mind, darkened in their understanding, and alienated from the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, by reason of the hardness of their heart:

But ye believe not; because ye are not of my sheep: for as I said unto you, my sheep hear my voice,

And ye have not his word abiding in you; because ye believe not Him, whom He hath sent.

Ye are of your father the devil, and are bent upon doing the lusts of your father: he was a murderer from the beginning, and continued not in the truth: for there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such. And because I say the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convicteth me of sin?

But though He had done so many miracles before their eyes, yet they did not believe on Him: so that the word of Esaias the prophet was fulfilled, which he spake, saying, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? And therefore they could not believe; for Esaias had also said,read more.
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, that they might not see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

And he did not many miracles there, because of their unbelief.

And He could do no miracle there, only laying his hands on a few sick people He healed them; and He was amazed at their unbelief. But he went about all the villages round, teaching.

and so we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Let us therefore fear least a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of us should seem to fall short of it: for we are graciously offered it, as they also were. But the word, which they heard, did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Well; they were broken off for their infidelity, and thou standest by faith: therefore be not high-minded but fear.

who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the holy Spirit, and of the good word of God, and the powers of the gospel-age, and yet fall away, should be renewed again to repentance: since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God, and make an open example of Him.

that in seeing they may see and not perceive, and in hearing they may hear and not understand, least they should be converted, and their sins be forgiven them.

wherefore he that believeth on the Son, hath eternal life; and he that obeyeth not the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who withhold the truth in unrighteousness;

But by thy hardness and impenitence of heart thou art treasuring up to thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the just judgement of God,

He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is already condemned; because he hath not believed on the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

he that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not, shall be condemned.

the lord of that servant will come on a day in which he does not expect him, and at a time which he is not aware of; and will cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the unfaithful.

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word, that I have spoken, will condemn him at the last day.

that they may all be condemned, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in iniquity.

But the fearful, and faithless, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
