'Behold, I set before you this day, a blessing and a curse:

a blessing, if ye hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you this day;

When all these words are come upon thee, whether it be the blessing or the curse which I have set before thee; yet if thou turn unto thine heart among all the nations whither the LORD thy God hath thrust thee,

Such as are blessed of God shall possess the land; and they that are cursed of him shall be rooted out.

When the LORD thy God hath brought thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, then put the blessing upon mount Gerizim and the curse upon mount Ebal,

"These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin. And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.

And all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

And after that he read all the words of the law, both the blessing and cursing, according to all that is written in the book of the law -

Nevertheless, the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam, but turned the curse to a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.

Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor for to curse you. But I would not agree to hearken unto Balaam, and therefore he blessed you: And so I delivered you out of his hand.

because they met not the children of Israel with bread and water, and hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: nevertheless our God turned the curse into a blessing.

If ye will not hear it, nor regard it, to give the glory unto my name, sayeth the LORD of Hosts, I will send a curse upon you, and will curse your blessings. Yea, curse them will I if ye do not take heed.

And Balak was wroth with Balaam, and smote his hands together, and said unto him, "I sent for thee to curse mine enemies: and behold, thou hast blessed them this three times,

And Balak said unto Balaam, "Neither curse them nor bless them."

He couched himself and lay down as a lion and as a lioness; who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee."

And Balak said unto Balaam, "What hast thou done unto me? I fetched thee to curse mine enemies: and behold, thou blessest them!"

Out of one mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
