whereupon the Lord turned about, and look'd upon Peter. then Peter remembred what the Lord had said to him, "before the cock-crowing you shall deny me thrice."
Now as Jesus was walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting their net into the sea: for they were fishermen.
and he brought him to Jesus. and when Jesus beheld him, he said, "thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas," which is by interpretation, a stone.
Jesus seeing Nathanael coming, said of him, there's a true Israelite, in whom is no guile. how do you know me?
said Nathanael to him. before Philip called you, replied Jesus, I saw you under the fig-tree.

Jesus answered him, because thou believest what I said, that I saw thee under the fig-tree, thou shalt see greater things than these.
Jesus seeing him lie there, and knowing that he had been sick a long time, said to him, will you be cured?
when Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing by, he said to his mother, woman, behold thy son.
but when he saw how the multitude were fatigued and dispers'd like so many sheep without their Pastors, he was moved with compassion, and said to his disciples,
then he looking with indignation at those about him, being concern'd at their disingenuous perverse temper, he said to the man, stretch out your hand, which he did, and his hand become sound.
then Jesus looking upon him with a favourable eye, said, there is one thing still to be done; go, sell all your estate, and give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; then come, take up the cross, and follow me.
then Jesus looking round about, said to his disciples, how difficult a thing is it for those who have riches to enter into the gospel kingdom!
but Jesus casting his eye upon them, said, what is impossible to men, is not so to God; for to God all things are possible.
then casting his eyes round the company, he said to the man, stretch out your hand. and he did so: and that hand was as sound as the other.
Then directing himself to his disciples, he said, blessed are ye, that are poor: for the divine kingdom is yours.
then Jesus turned about, and seeing them following, said, what do you seek? they answered him, rabbi, that is to say master, where do you dwell?
Jesus then lifting up his eyes, and seeing a great company coming to him, said to Philip, where can we buy bread to feed this people?
Jesus, to avoid this crowd of people, went to a mountain: and when he was set down, his disciples came to him.
so you are afflicted at present: but I will see you again, and then shall your hearts be affected with joy, and your joy shall no one wrest from you.
Jesus having said this, lift up his eyes to heaven, and said, "father, the hour is come; glorify thy son, that thy son also may glorify thee.
