1 Kings 8:16

so that My name would be there.
But I have chosen David to rule My people Israel.”

But I have chosen Jerusalem
so that My name will be there,
and I have chosen David

The Lord said,
“I have made a covenant with My chosen one;

2 Samuel 23:5

Is it not true my house is with God?
For He has established an everlasting covenant with me,
ordered and secured in every detail.

my whole salvation and my every desire?

1 Kings 11:11-13

Then the Lord said to Solomon, “Since you have done this and did not keep My covenant and My statutes, which I commanded you, I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant. However, I will not do it during your lifetime because of your father David; I will tear it out of your son’s hand. Yet I will not tear the entire kingdom away from him. I will give one tribe to your son because of my servant David and because of Jerusalem that I chose.”

Jeremiah 7:24-26

Yet they didn’t listen or pay attention but followed their own advice and according to their own stubborn, evil heart. They went backward and not forward. Since the day your ancestors came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have sent all My servants the prophets to you time and time again. However, they wouldn’t listen to Me or pay attention but became obstinate; they did more evil than their ancestors.

Jeremiah 36:30-31

Therefore, this is what the Lord says concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on David’s throne, and his corpse will be thrown out to be exposed to the heat of day and the frost of night. I will punish him, his descendants, and his officers for their wrongdoing. I will bring on them, on the residents of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah all the disaster, which I warned them about but they did not listen.”
