26 Bible Verses about Desire For Death

Men will seek death in those days and will not find it. They will desire to die and death will elude them.

Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb?

Elijah walked a whole day into the wilderness. He stopped and sat down under a broom plant and wished he would die. It is just too much, Jehovah, he prayed. Take away my life. I could just as well be dead.

But the eyes of the wicked will fail and they will not escape. Their hope will become a dying gasp.

My enemies say evil things about me: When will he die, and when will his family name disappear?

My enemies talk about me. They watch me as they plot to take my life.

You are more loyal to your enemies than to your friends. You show your officers and soldiers that they do not mean a thing to you. You would be happy if Absalom was still alive even if the rest of us were dead.
