This happened in Jerusalem and Judah because of Jehovah's anger. It continued until he had sent them all away from before him. Then Zedekiah took up arms and rebelled against the king of Babylon.
Jehovah became angry at Jerusalem and Judah and threw the people out of his sight. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, all the offspring of Ephraim.
But Jehovah was kind to them and had pity on them, caring for them, because of his agreement with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He would not put them to destruction or send them away from his presence until now.
I will certainly pick you up and throw you far away from me, both you and the city that I gave to you and your ancestors.
And I said: I have been cast out of your sight. Yet I will look again toward your Holy Temple.
