The LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
For Adam was first formed, then Eve. Adam was not deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;

The man said, "The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate." The LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
To the woman he said, "I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. In pain you will bring forth children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."
The man knew Eve his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, "I have gotten a man with the LORD's help." Again she gave birth, to Cain's brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
