And a certain scribe came to Him, and said, Master, I will follow Thee whithersoever Thou goest:

And as they were going by the way, there was one said to Him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest:

And he said unto Him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both to prison and to death.

And upon a set day, Herod arrayed in his royal robes, and sitting upon his throne, made an oration to them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man: but immediately an angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and being devoured by worms he died.

Ye are now full, ye are now rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I wish ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

because thou sayst, I am rich, and wealthy, and have want of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

And why dost thou look at the splinter in thy brother's eye, but takest no notice of the beam in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me take the chaff out of thine eye, and behold, there is a beam in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first get the beam out of thine own eye; and then thou wilt see how to take the splinter out of thy brother's eye.

But why dost thou look at the chaff in thy brother's eye, and takest no notice of the beam that is in thine own? or how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother let me take out the splinter that is in thine eye, when thou thyself seest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first take out the beam from thine own eye, and then thou wilt see distinctly how to take out the chaff that is in thy brother's eye.

And therefore if thy right eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one part of thee perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell: and if thy right hand cause thee to offend, cut it off and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy limbs should perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Is there any man among you, who, if his son ask him for bread, will give him a stone? or if he ask for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

If a son ask bread of any father among you, will he give him a stone? and if he ask for a fish, will he instead of a fish give him a serpent? or if he ask for an egg, will he give him a scorpion?

Another parable spake He unto them, saying, The gospel-kingdom is like leaven, which a woman took and put into a large quantity of dough, till the whole was leavened.

And again He said, To what shall I compare the kingdom of God?
