For when we were still in weakness, Christ died in due time for the ungodly. For the ungodly! Why, a man will hardly die for the just ??though one might bring oneself to die, if need be, for a good man. But God proves his love for us by this, that Christ died for us when we were still sinners.
Then are we to infer that there is injustice in God? Never! God says to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I choose to have mercy, I will have compassion on whom I choose to have compassion. You see, it is not a question of human will or effort but of the divine mercy.

Well, at the present day there is also a remnant, selected by grace. Selected by grace, and therefore not for anything they have done; otherwise grace would cease to be grace.
You are for justification by the Law? Then you are done with Christ, you have deserted grace,

For if it is adherents of the Law who are heirs, then faith is empty of all meaning and the promise is void. As we are justified by faith, then, let us enjoy the peace we have with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have got access to this grace where we have our standing, and triumph in the hope of God's glory.
So let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in the hour of need.
