The Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind (gentle) to all, able to teach, and patient when wronged. He should instruct those who oppose using meekness. Perhaps God will give them repentance that they may know the truth. They should come to their senses out of the snare of the Devil. He has taken them captive and they do his will.
Tolerate (endure) (suffer) (put up with) one another, and forgive each other. If any man has a complaint against anyone, forgive them, even as God forgave you.
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others more important than you. Look out for the interest of others and not only for your own personal interest.
When men quarrel and one hits the other with a rock or with his fist and injures him so that he has to stay in bed you must do this. If the injured man is able to stand up again and walk around outside with a cane, the one who hit him must not be punished. He must pay the injured man for the loss of his time and for all his medical expenses.
It is better to dwell on the corner of the roof than to share the house with a contentious (combative) woman.

Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to argue about words. This is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers.
I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there are no divisions among you.
