I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

For by grace you have been saved through the faith; and this matter is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God:

But for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all long-suffering, for an example to those who might afterward believe on him in order to life eternal.

Let us come, therefore, with boldness, to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help in every time of need.

Likewise, you younger, be in subjection to the older: do you all indeed be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the lowly.

But he gives more grace. "Wherefore he says: God sets himself against the proud, but gives grace to the lowly.

Be you, therefore, merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Blessed are the merciful; for they shall receive mercy.

But go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, and not sacrifice. For I came not to call righteous men, but sinners to repentance.

He answered and said: You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole strength, and with your whole understanding, and your neighbor as yourself. And Jesus answered and said: A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among; robbers, who stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and went away, leaving him half dead. And by chance a certain priest went down along that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In like manner, also, a Levite, when he came to the place, went and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, who was on a journey, came near him; and when he saw him, he had compassion on him. And he went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine; and he put him on his own beast, and carried him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him: Take care of him; and whatever you spend more, on my return, I will repay you. Which, then, of these three do you think was neighbor to him that fell among the robbers? He replied: He that showed mercy to him. Jesus said to him: Go, and do you likewise.

So speak, and so act, as those who shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, who has shown no mercy. Mercy glories over judgment.

And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For if you forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Then Peter came to him, and said: Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times? Jesus said to him: I say to you, Not till seven times, but till seventy times seven. And when he began to make a settlement, there was brought to him one that owed him ten thou sand talents. But as he was not able to pay, his lord commanded him, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, to be sold, and payment to be made. Therefore, the servant fell down and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, Lord, and I will pay you all. And the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and let him go, and for gave him the debt. But that servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hold of him, and took him by the throat, saying: Pay me what you owe. Then his fellow-servant fell down at his feet, and be sought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay you all. And he would not; but went and threw him into prison, till he should pay the debt. When his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were very sad, and went and made known to their lord all that was done. Then his lord called him and said to him: Wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt, because you besought me. Ought you not to have had mercy on your fellow-servant, even as I had mercy on you? And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the jailers, till he should pay all that was due him. So also will my heavenly Father do to you, if, from your hearts, you forgive not every one his brother's offenses.

Judge not, and you shall not be judged; condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you shall be for given.

Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sin against you, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he sin against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to you and say, I repent, you shall forgive him.

so that, on the other hand, you should rather forgive and comfort him, lest such a one should be swallowed up in too much sorrow.

and be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.

bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any one have a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do you:

Let brotherly love continue.

Then will the righteous answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and feed thee? or thirsty, and give thee drink? When did we see thee a stranger, and take thee to our home? or naked, and clothe thee? When did we see thee sick, or in prison, and come to thee?read more.
And the King will answer and say to them: Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good; in love to the brotherhood, be kindly affectionate one to another; in showing honor, be examples one to another; in what requires diligence, be not slothful; in spirit, be fervent; in service, be devoted to the Lord;read more.
in hope, be joyful; in affliction, be patient; in prayer, be per severing; administer to the necessities of the saints; be careful to entertain strangers; bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not; rejoice with them that rejoice, and weep with them that weep; cultivate the same disposition, one to ward another: mind not high things, but conform yourselves to things that are lowly. Be not wise in your own conceits; repay to no one evil for evil; practice that which is honorable in the sight of all men. If possible, as far as may be in your power, be at peace with all men. Beloved, avenge not yourselves, but give place to the wrath of God; for it is written: Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord. If, therefore, your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by doing this, you will heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome by evil; but overcome evil with good.

Wherefore, having this ministry, inasmuch as we have received mercy, we faint not;

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you, and keep you from the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord with respect to you, that you both do, and will continue to do, the things which we command you. And the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God, and to the patience of the Christ.

We make known to you, brethren, God's gracious gift, which has been given in the churches of Macedonia;

For the love of Christ constrains us, because we have this judgment that if one died for all, then have all died: and he died for all, that those who live should no more live for them selves, but for him who died for them, and rose again. So, then, we henceforth know no man according to the flesh; if, indeed, we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we no longer thus know him.read more.
So, then, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. And all these things are from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to him self, not charging their offenses to them, and he has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
