And, being angry, his lord delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all the debt.

And the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates, having torn off their garments, were giving orders to beat them with rods; and, having laid upon them many stripes, they thrust them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely; who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

Women received their dead by a resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting the redemption, that they might obtain a better resurrection. And others had trial of mockings and scourgings, and, moreover, of bonds and imprisonment: they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they were tempted, they perished in the slaughter of the sword; they went about in sheep-skins, in goat-skins, being destitute, suffering tribulation, maltreatedread more.
(of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves, and the holes of the earth.

And it was given to them, that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months. And their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when it strikes a man.

And the men who were holding Jesus were mocking Him, beating Him;

Then the soldiers of the governor, taking Jesus into the Praetorium, gathered to Him the whole band. And, having stripped Him, they put on Him a scarlet robe; and, having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and, kneeling before Him, they mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"read more.
And, having spit on Him, they took the reed, and smote Him on the head; and, when they mocked Him, they took off the robe from Him, and put on His own garments, and led Him away to crucify Him.

And the soldiers led Him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. And they clothe Him with purple; and, having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on Him. And they began to salute Him, "Hail King of the Jews!"read more.
And they were smiting His head with a reed, and kept spitting on Him; and, bowing their knees, they were worshiping Him! And, when they mocked Him, they took from Him the purple, and put on Him His own garments. And they lead Him out to crucify Him.

And the soldiers, having platted a crown of thorns, placed it upon his head, and put on Him a purple robe; and they kept coming to Him, and saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they were giving Him blows with a rod.

where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on each side, and Jesus in the midst.

And, having crucified Him, they divided His garments among them, casting lots;

And they crucify Him, and divide His garments, casting lots upon them, what each should take.

And, when they came to the place that is called "The Skull," there they crucified Him, and the malefactors; one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

and, behold, they cried out, saying, "What is there to us and to Thee, O Son of God? Didst Thou come here to torment us before the time?"

and, crying with a loud voice, he says, "What is there to me and Thee, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure Thee by God, that Thou torment me not!"

And, seeing Jesus, he, crying out, fell down before Him, and, with a loud voice, said, "What is there to me and to Thee, Jesus, Son of God Most High? I beg of Thee, do not torment me!"

And the Devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where also the beast and the false prophet were cast; and they shall be tormented, day and night, forever and ever.

"And these shall go away into age-lasting punishment, but the righteous into age-lasting life."

and in Hades, lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name.

As much as she glorified herself, and lived luxuriously, so much torment and mourning give her; because she says in her heart, 'I sit a queen, and am not a widow, and shall in nowise see mourning.'
