And putting them all out, he took the father and mother of the little child, and those with him, and went in where the little child was; and taking the hand of the little child, he said to her, Talitha cum, which is interpreted, Girl, I tell you arise; and immediately the girl arose and walked about, for she was twelve years old. And they were astonished with great astonishment.

But he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. And taking her hand, he called, saying, Child, arise! And her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And he commanded food to be given her.

And approaching he touched the bier, and those who bore it stopped. And he said, Young man, I tell you, arise!

And when they heard this the disciples fell on their faces, and were greatly afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

And they brought him little children that he should touch them; and the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
