He had been dwelling upon this, when an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. But, on the death of Herod, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, and said: "Awake, take the child and his mother, and go into the Land of Israel, for those who sought to take the child's life are dead." Meanwhile Mary was standing close outside the tomb, weeping. Still weeping, she leant forward into the tomb, And perceived two angels clothed in white sitting there, where the body of Jesus had been lying, one where the head and the other where the feet had been. "Why are you weeping?" asked the angels. "They have taken my Master away," she answered, "and I do not know where they have laid him."
