Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees who were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answering said, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God thro' your tradition?

And calling all the multitude, he said to them, Hearken to me every one of you and consider. There is nothing entering into a man from without, which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, these are they that defile the man.

And calling the multitudes he said to them, Hear and understand. Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth the man, but what cometh out of the mouth, this defileth the man.

And as he spake, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. And he went in and sat down to table. But the Pharisee seeing it, marvelled, that he had not first washed before dinner. And the Lord said to him, Now ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the dish; but your inward part is full of rapine and wickedness.read more.
Ye unthinking men, did not he that made the outside, make the inside also? But give what is in them in alms, and behold all things are clean to you.

Know ye not, that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor sodomites, Nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor revilers, nor the rapacious shall inherit the kingdom of God. And now, why tarriest thou? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
