And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.

Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the prophets. Who do you claim to be?"

And John, calling to him two of his disciples, sent them to the Lord, saying, "Are you the One who is to come, or shall we look for another?"

When the men had come to him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, 'Are you the One who is to come, or shall we look for another?'"

Then Pilate asked him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" And he answered him, "It is as you say."

Pilate said to him, "You are a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say what I ama king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."

But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God."

But he was silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"

"If you are the Christ, tell us." But he said to them, "If I tell you, you will not believe.

And all the people were amazed and said, "Could this be the Son of David?"

So the Jews gathered round him and said to him, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly."

They all said, "Are you the Son of God, then?" He said to them, "You said what I am."

And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread."

and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written, 'He will give his angels charge of you,' and 'In their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.'"

and saying, "You who would destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross."

And the devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."

He took him to Jerusalem, set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here;

seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.
