it seemed good to me also, having carefully investigated all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things which you have been taught.

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.

"But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch; for you do not know when the time will come. It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch.read more.
Watch thereforefor you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!"

So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.

Now as to the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
